In-line filter media choice
Our customers say...
"I was very happy with the service provided by Helapet. I approached them to find a particular filter I had been having problems sourcing. The design, communication and service given were very professional and quick. I received my order within a very short period of time and it was perfect first time round. I would have no doubt in using Helapet again."

The Art of Filtration
Media choice for maximum filtration
Filter media is the main component of filtration devices and making the right choice is critical. Our expert and knowledgeable team have access to a comprehensive range of media, with varying pore sizes, providing one of the widest choices on the market.
Each media is unique in the way that it will separate dissimilar materials. The media which is best for one application may not always be the right choice for another. By using test data and experience our team will help you make the right choice for your filter.
There are three types of media; depth, membrane, and screen.
Depth Media
Depth media can provide a high dirt capacity and high flow rates make this ideal for gas and air applications.
Carbon - An activated media designed for odour removal. In its granular, form carbon acts as depth filtration.
GMF – Glass micro fibre
HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air filter) - A range of depth media with high efficiency rating of 85% to 99.95% for particulates ≥ 0.3μm in size.
ULPA (Ultra Low Penetration Air filter) - Media with a efficiency rating of 99.9995% to 99.999995% ≥ 0.1μm, ideal for ensuring bacteria retention, with further standards available.
Membrane
Membranes are chosen for their strength, broad range of chemical compatibility, and their thermal stability. They are an excellent choice for critical applications where flow rate and micron size matter.
PTFE (PolyTetraFluroEthylene) - An inherently hydrophobic micro-porous media to resist moisture in gas and air, ranging from 0.2μm to 5μm. One 0.2μm rated media can be used for sterile venting applications.
PES (PolyEtherSulphone) - An inherently hydrophilic media with total bacterial retention and allows a good flow rate.
PP (PolyPropylene) - Good chemical resistance for a wide range of commonly used chemicals. These have good thermal properties and can function at reasonably high temperatures.
Screen
6 common weaves are available, each designed to give a specific, or absolute, level of filtration; 1μm to 200μm and are commonly used in our Jet-Ink™ range.
WPE (Woven PolyEster) - Woven media in a screen pattern provides absolute filtration for liquids and ink, ideal for large particle removal.
Nylon - Very high flow rates due to strong tensile strength, has a long life and excellent compatibility with chemicals.
